The Kenblog: Remembering Carl Weathers!

Weather’s had an extensive career, appearing in the underrated “Force 10 From Navaronne” alongside Harrison Ford and Robert Shaw. He also had a meaty role in the science fiction classic “Predator” and a leading role in “Action Jackson” along with a classic supporting role in Adam Sandler’s “Happy Gilmore.” Weather’s also had a sterling television career, appearing in the last two seasons of “In The Heat Of The Night” and more recently, endeared himself to a new generation of Star Wars fans as Greef Karga on all three seasons of “The Mandalorian.” In the show he plays an bounty broker turned government official who has an ever-evolving relationship with Din Djarin, the series’ title character. Weather’s turn as Karga embodied all of his best traits: a roguish charm combined with a leathery toughness that made Karga endearing and dangerous all at the same time.

Like I said, 76 is way too young for a man of Weather’s energy to pass. Fortunately he will live on through his work and his legacy in film in television will always be remembered. He will be missed. Below are some selected clips I’ve chosen from his film and television career. Rest in peace Mr. Weathers!
