Dog’s Movie House: “The Marvels” Bouyed By The Chemistry Between Its Three Stars!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here and I can acknowledge that the cinematic world is currently suffering from a case of superhero fatigue. There’s so much comic book content in both movies and television that it’s hard to keep up with everything. That said, the quality of most of Marvel’s films is still quite good and “The Marvels” by the talented Nia DaCosta (“Candyman”) is an example of wonderfully breezy entertainment.

Dog’s Movie House – “Blue Beetle” A Neat Superhero Film That’s Anchors The Action With A Strong Heartbeat!”

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at DC’s latest superhero film “Blue Beetle” a somewhat obscure character that turns out to be the subject of one of the most heartfelt, entertaining movies of the summer. “Blue Beetle” stars Xolo Mariduena as Jaime Reyes, a recent college graduate whose family has fallen on hard times. In attempting to earn money to help the family, he comes into possession of an object called The Scarab, a sentient power source that bonds with Jaime and transforms him into the Blue Beetle. He’s going to need all the power he can get as the owner of the Scarab, one Victoria Kord (a wonderfully icy Susan Sarandon) will stop at nothing to get it back. Jaime must use his newfound abilities to protect his family from Kord and her army of mercenaries.

Dog’s Movie House: “Shazam! Fury Of The Gods” Is A Fun, Heartfelt Superhero Film With Nods To The Great Ray Harryhausen!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at David F. Sandberg’s “Shazam! Fury Of The Gods,” a sequel to the original 2019 film that brings much of the humor and action to the screen in highly entertaining fashion. In this film, Billy Batson (Asher Angel) has a lot on his plate: he’s worried about aging out of his foster home and doesn’t believe he’s worthy of holding the powers of Shazam! He and his foster family are trying to be heroes but their exploits are riduculed by the press and Billy is having trouble keeping the group together, specifically Freddy (Jack Dylan Grazer) who wants to go solo with his super powers. Things take a dark turn when the Daughters Of Atlas (Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu) show up and want to take revenge on the human realm for stealing their powers and destroying their realm. When his family is put out of action, it’s up to Billy to become the hero he was always destined to become to save the world.

The Trailer Dog Park: “The Flash” And A Sexy Jennifer Lawrence!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with another edition of the Trailer Dog Park! This week we’re featuring the highly anticipated DC film “The Flash” featuring Ezra Miller and the return of Michael Keaton as Batman! Then we have Jennifer Lawrence in a new comedy called “No Hard Feelings” in which the Oscar winner is paid by the parents of a nerdy teen to sleep with the young man before he goes to college. Dog’s Movie House: “Ant Man & The Wasp: Quantumania” A Good Start To The Next Big Marvel Storyline!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at “Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania” the latest Marvel Studios superhero extravaganza. Paul Rudd returns as Scott Lang, who up until this point is living the good life as an Avenger. He’s on good relationship footing with his girl Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), and improving his relationships with Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer). The only person he’s having trouble connecting to is his rebellious daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton). That all changes when a device Cassie invents sucks them all into the Quantum Realm where they discover the powerful Kang The Conquerer (Jonathan Majors), a interdimensional time travel with incredible technology who longs to escape the Quantum Realm. To do that, he needs help from Janet Van Dyne (with whom he has a history) and the abilities of Ant Man. It’s up to Scott and his family to stop Kang from escaping the Quantum Realm and conquering the Earth.
