Dog’s Movie House: “The Book Of Clarence” Highly Ambitious, Highly Entertaining, Yet Uneven Biblical Epic!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at one of the most original and ambitious films I’ve seen in a while. It’s called “The Book Of Clarence” and it’s the second feature from talented filmmaker Jeymes Samuel (“The Harder They Fall). I’ve got to tell you: Mr. Samuel isn’t afraid to go big his second time around. “The Book Of Clarence” takes place in Jeruselem in 33 A.D. during the time of Jesus Christ and his desciples. It tells the tale of Clarence (Lakeith Stanfield) the twin brother of disciple Thomas (also Stanfield) who decides to use trickery to become the new Messiah. Things change when the former con artist begins to believe and changes his life trajectory dramatically.
