Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at the third and final (maybe) entry into the popular “Guardians Of The Galaxy” series. SImply called “Vol. 3” this film reunites the primary cast and introduces some interesting new characters. Writer/director James Gunn’s final entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe is an incredibly entertaining film that tugs on the heartstrings like very few comic book movies do.

Dog’s Movie House: “Peter Pan & Wendy” Entertaining Live Action Version Of The Peter Pan Story!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at Disney’s latest live-action version of one of their beloved animated classics. This time it’s Peter Pan getting the treatment in a film streaming exclusively on Disney Plus. It’s called Peter Pan and Wendy and tells a slighly modified version of the classic J.M. Barrie tale. The setup is the same: Pater Pan ( Alexander Molony) invades the home of the Darlings in London to retrieve his lost shadow and in doing so recruits the Darling children, Wendy (Ever Anderson), John (Joshua Pickering), and Michael (Jacob Jupe) to an adventure in Neverland. Upon arriving, the group are set upon by the villainous Captain Hook (Jude Law) and his pirates. It’s up to Peter and Wendy to fend off the evil captain and eventually get the Darling children home.

Dog’s Movie House: “Sisu” A Finnish Action Film That Gives “John Wick” A Run For It’s Money!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at a new film destined to become a cult action classic! It’s called “Sisu” and it follows the exploits of a former soldier-turned gold miner in the wilds of Finland during 1944. Having lost his family and turned his back on the war he’s content to find his fortune in gold, which he does after several failed attempts. On his way back to the city, he is besieged by the fleeing Nazi army who have adapted a scorched-earth police of violence and destruction. Now they want our miner’s gold. The miner, named Aatami (Jorma Tommila), turns out to be a former Finnish commander and an ultimate badass, a point the Nazi’s discover when they try to take his gold as well as his life. For the next ninety minutes it’s a cat and mouse game between Aatami and the Nazis, only in this hunt it’s Aatami playing the role of the cat!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a little something new. This is an article honoring some of the most unsung heroes of the cinema. In this case we’re honoring Ben Burtt, the legendary sound designer and editor behind some of the most iconic films in history. Below is an older but still riveting documentary about our subject and his methods. (And no, he’s not dead. . .I think will honor these people while they’re alive for a change.) Dog’s Movie House: “Evil Dead Rise” And “The Covenant” Arriving For Your Moviegoing Pleasure!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at this week’s new releases. First we have “The Covenant” a thriller from Guy Ritchie that details the search by an American soldier (Jake Gyllenhaal) who goes back to Afghanistan to save his interpreter (Dar Salim) after said interpreter saved the former’s life from the Taliban! Then we have “Evil Dead Rise” the fifth in the iconic series started way back in 1981 by Sam Raimi. Written and directed by Lee Cronin, “Evil Dead Rise” moves the horror festivities from the cabin in the woods to a condemned apartment building in Los Angeles. The result is an original entry into the series that still manages to pay homage to the original trilogy!
