Dog’s Movie House – “Challengers” Puts The “Love” In Tennis To A Ridiculous Extreme!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a confession: I’m getting old! Yep, it’s obvious age is advancing and is always up to no good. That’s the only explanation for my sudden outbreak of eye-rolling every thirty seconds when Luca Gaudagnino’s latest film showcased a scene filled with sexual innuendo. Guadagnino, known for his racy, relationship oriented movies (“Call Me By Your Name,” anyone?) injects an overdose of sex in this drama involving a former tennis prodigy (Zendaya) turned coach gets involved in a love triangle between her husband (and current client) and her former boyfriend. Oh yeah, and the two men have been friends since they were twelve. Ouch!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year. It’s Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part 2” the second half of the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic 1965 novel. The first film, simply titled “Dune” released in 2021 during the pandemic and did remarkably well considering the circumstances. The first film was incredible to look at and very engrossing, but most of it was a set up for the characters and the rest of the story. I’m happy to say that “Dune: Part 2” delivers the good in every sense of the word, making it one of the best films of the year so far.

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at Netflix’s latest. It’s called “Malcom & Marie” and features two tour de force performances from John David Washington and Zendaya as a couple who hash out a bunch of relationship issues the night after Washington’s character, an up-and-coming filmmaker, has had his passion project premiere to rave reviews.
