The Kenblog: Best Stephen King Adaptations Of All Time!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here and in honor of the release of of “The Long Walk” I thought I would pick out the top Stephen King film adaptations and maybe a couple of flicks that don’t work at all. Stephen King has long been my favorite writer and his works have become part of the American scene. He’s in his seventies and still as prolific as ever (and this is after coming back from being slammed into by a van several years earlier!) King’s style of writing in very cinematic in my humble opinion. When I’m reading a King book, it’s more like the pictures of the story are playing in the cinema of my noggin’ I look forward to everything he puts out and even if it isn’t always up to snuff (The Tommyknockers, anyone?) I still love it! So read on below for my best King film picks!

Dog’s Movie House: “The Long Walk” Not Just Excellent Stephen King Adaptation, But One Of The Best Movies Of The Year!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here! I’m one of those unusual kids who found Stephen King before I was ten years old. I gravitated towards his style of writing and was fortunate enough to be possessed of the maturity and understanding to enjoy his works. The first book of his I read was Firestarter which, while entertaining, wasn’t his scariest book. As I grew older my interest and immersion in all things Stephen King only grew, but as a budding movie buff I found the inconsistent nature of the cinematic adaptations of King’s work! For every classic like “The Shining” there was a “Graveyard Shift” or “Children Of The Corn.” Now, four decades later, we have one of the most incredible adaptations of King’s work ever but to film. It’s titled “The Long Walk” and it is as harrowing, disturbing, and emotional as the story that serves as it’s inspiration!
