Radio Daze: “The Cisco Kid” A Fun Throwback Classic Western For Your Old Radio Listening Pleasure!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with another edition of Radio Daze. This edition features a couple of episodes of “The Cisco Kid” O’Henry’s western criminal reimagined as a western Robin Hood character. “Oh Cisco, oh pancho!” became a popular catchphrase during the series run, which peaked in the early 1950s. Pancho was The Cisco kids portly and amusing sidekick and their adventures were a little more lighthearted than the serious nature of, say, Gunsmoke. With it’s jaunty organ music and some clever scripts, “The Cisco Kid” is an enduring classic that evokes a great feeling of nostalgia! Enjoy! So Sayeth The Kendog!
