Dog’s Movie House: “The Bikeriders” A Well-Made Film That Has Echoes Of More Accomplished Work!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at Jeff Nichol’s “The Bikeriders” a film about a fictional motercycle gang in the 1960s and early 70s based on a series of true interviews and photo sessions during the same time. It’s an extremely well-made film with fine performances and a faithful, lived-in recreation of the time period, but there are scenes and lines of dialogue that remind me of classic movies like “Goodfellas,” “The Godfather” and even the Coen brother’s “Fargo.” I would just be settling in and getting involved in the film when a line of dialogue or needle drop would jerk me out of it, however briefly, preventing the film from becoming completely it’s own cinematic animal!
