Dog’s Movie House: “Avatar: The Way Of Water” Pure Spectacle In Its Finest Form!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at the long awaited sequel to the number one grossing movie of all time. Yes, I’m talking about “Avatar: The Way Of Water” and it proves that James Cameron was right to let us wait thirteen years for the next installment on the world of Pandora. The story is still fairly basic, but it’s a sturdy framework for some of the finest effects and action work I’ve ever seen. Fans of the original film are in for a treat and newcomers (all though you’ll want to watch the original movie for context) will enjoy themselves as well!

Dog’s Movie House: “Don’t Breathe 2” Brutal Film That Lacks The Suspense Of The First Film!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at a sequel no one was sure they wanted! The movie’s creatively titled “Don’t Breathe 2” and is the five years in the making follow-up to 2016’s surprise horror hit “Don’t Breathe.” Both feature the uber-talented Stephen Lang as Norman Nordstrom, a blind former Navy Seal who has fighting skills that John Wick would envy and an attitude that would give Freddy Krueger nightmares. Here’s the thing folks: the first film establishes Nordstrom as a truly reprehensible villain who barely qualifies as a human being, which is great given the nature of the first film in which the home invasion trope is flipped on its head. This second outing tries to establish Nordstrom as a more sympathetic figure which becomes more and more problematic as the film continues, resulting in a technically proficient yet dramtically bankrupt film.
