Dog’s Movie House: “Companion” Deliciously Nasty Thriller With Twilight Zone Vibes!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at a film I literally didn’t know anything about after watching the first trailer. Drew Hancock’s “Companion” is a part thriller, part romance, and part nasty black comedy, all rolled up into a science fiction stew that would make the late Rod Serling proud. Featuring fine performances from the entire cast, with Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid being the standouts, “Companion” is one of those films that will grow in status over time!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here and I’m telling you that some of the greatest horror movies of all time have a lot more on their mind than the cheap jump-scare. The best films, be they horror or otherwise, work on several different levels so that the immersion factor has a lot more to do with the many facets of the movie rather than how many times the monster goes “Boo!” The new horror film “Heretic” is just such a film, asking serious questions about religious theology while at the same time leaving you crushing your armrests in collective suspense!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at the new horror film “The Boogeyman” a creature feature that comes from the mind of none other than Stephen King! “The Boogeyman” is actually pretty good, with atmosphere galore, some decent performances, and a suitably creepy monster, but the thing that keeps “The Boogeyman” from becoming a classic is that it borrows liberally elements from movies such as “Smile” “It” and the horror series “Stranger Things.” The fact that the monster looks like he could have come from the Upside Down doesn’t help!
