Dog’s Movie House: “Killers Of The Flower Moon” A Detailed Look At A Dark Time In American History. . .But Boy, Is It Long!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here and I’m all for extending movie’s run times if the subject matter warrants it. (After all, the extended cut of “Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King” is over four hours and I can’t get enough.) However, certain films, no matter the pedigree, require a bit more editing to maximize their effectiveness. I am, of course, talking about “Killers Of The Flower Moon,” Martin Scorsese’s three and a half hour magnum opus about the Osage murders in the 1920s. Based on David Grann’s best selling novel, “Killers Of The Flower Moon” is meticulously acted, written and directed and shines a light on a period of American history not many people know about. It’s almost a perfect triumph, but the movie has a tendency to drag in spots and it kept me from being fully invested 100% of the time!
