Dog’s Movie House: “Joyride” A Riotus, Raunchy Comedy With Heart!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a luck at one of the funniest comedies in recent memory! It’s called “Joyride” and it details the journey of one Audrey Sullivan (Ashley Park) an adopted child of Asian descent who has become an overachieving lawyer without a real sense of identity. That’s about to change when her life long friend Lolo (Sherry Cola) accompanies her on a trip to China to help close a big business deal for her firm. (Audrey doesn’t speak Chinese and Lolo is going to serve as a translator). The two are accompanied by another friend known simply as Deadeye (a scene-stealing Sabrina Wu), a K-Pop obsessed, socially awkward young woman. Upon arrival the three hookup with Audrey’s college roommate and Chinese television star Kat (Stephanie Hsu). Through a series of strange circumstances the four women embark on a journey throughout China and Korea on a mission to locate Audrey’s birth mother who gave her up when Audrey was an infant. Hilarity and heart ensue.
