Dog’s Movie House: “Interceptor” Interesting, If Flawed, Netflix Original!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at Netflix’s latest original film, a thriller called “Interceptor.” There’s a lull in the cinematic storm between the current juggernaut “Top Gun: Maverick” and next week’s new blockbuster, “Jurassic World: Dominion.” So we go for the streaming giant this week with a tale about a sea rig missile base called an “Interceptor” base. This base, we are told, is one of two the U.S. has to shoot down enemy nuclear missiles. Enter a female captain with a past who is forced to fight to keep a group of terrorists from taking control of the platform in order to start World War III. In interesting premise is marred somewhat by spotty acting, some less-than-stellar special effects, and some holes in the script. That said, the movie is engaging enough to keep your attention for most of its less than two hour run time.

Dog’s Movie House: “I Care A Lot” A Nasty Good Time If You’re In The Right Frame Of Mind!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at Netflix’s latest titled “I Care A Lot.” It’s listed as a black comedy but I have a hard time finding anything funny about it. That said, “I Care A Lot” is a well crafted, nasty little thriller with some crackerjack performances and a vicious script that makes it difficult for you to root for anyone. There is also a terrifying probability to the central premise that should really make you think twice before committing any elderly or infirm family members to assisted living facilities.

Dog’s Movie House: “Welcome To Sudden Death” formulaic but enjoyable action flick featuring the underrated Michael Jai White!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a new film on Netflix featuring a guy who should be a waaay bigger star than he is. The film is called “Welcome To Sudden Death” and the featured actor as Michael Jai White, a talented fellow who, were there any justice in this world, would be near the top of the food chain in Hollywood when it comes to action stars. The film itself is a fairly formulaic affair but has enough slightly off-center performances and decent action to warrant a watch. It also is less than an hour-and-a-half long, which means it doesn’t overstay its welcome. It also features as its biggest asset the cinematic badass known as Michael Jai White!
