Dog’s Movie House: “Five Nights At Freddy’s” Has Interesting Premise But Zero Scares!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here and I have to say after watching “Five Nights At Freddy’s” the latest film adaptation of a popular video game, I couldn’t have imagined it would have made almost 150 million dollars at the global box office in one weekend. All of the ingredients for a terrific horror movie are there, but the execution of an pretty interesting story is slapdash and lacking in any tension. The movie is also rated PG-13, so there isnt even any good old fashioned gore to fall back on. It does have a decent story and good performances, but scary “Five Nights At Freddy’s” is not!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at the latest from one of my favorite directors. Neill Blomkamp is finally back after a long hiatus with the thrilling true story Jann Mardenborough (Archie Madekwe), a young adult from England who gets a chance to parley his incredible skills with the Gran Turismo racing game into a real life opportunity to race real cars for Team Nissan. The film is called, predictably, “Gran Turismo,” and it manages through sheer spectacle and some very good performances to elevate a cliche-ridden script into a rousing piece of cinematic entertainment!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at two new releases in theaters this week. The first is “Dog” featuring Channing Tatum as veteran assigned with taking an unruly dog across the country to the funeral of the dog’s owner: a fellow soldier. The next in the cinematic adaptation of the popular video game “Uncharted” in which Tom Holland plays Nathan Drake, a young treasure hunter in search of the lost gold of Magellan. Both films are lightweight, disposable entertainment, but “Dog” carries a bit more emotional weight. And. . .you know, adorable dog!
