Dog’s Movie House: “Flight Risk” Brisk Entertainment From Director Mel Gibson!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at Mel Gibson’s latest directorial effort. The film is titled “Flight Risk” and, despite some flaws, is a brisk, sometimes clever thriller that features a strong performance from Michelle Dockery as a federal marshal tasked with bringing an uncooperative witness named Winston (Topher Grace) from Alaska to New York to testify against a brutal mob boss. Trouble is, the pilot of their little puddle jumper is actually a sadistic assassin tasked with killing Winston for said mob boss. The assassin “Daryl” is played by Mark Wahlberg, chewing scenery and sporting a truly impressive bald pate. The film isn’t perfect, but Gibson brings a streamlined energy to the proceedings that make “Flight Risk” an entertaining watch!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog with a look at Hulu’s latest original movie, an action film from Sacramento’s own Joe Carnahan. It’s called “Boss Level” and it’s a violent iteration of the classic Bill Murray comedy “Groundhog Day.” It’s not as good as “Groundhog Day” mind you, but it’s a fairly entertaining action flick with a solid hook, entertaining direction, and some good performances from some game actors, particularly from lead Frank Grillo.
