Radio Daze: Some Early Jack Benny For Your Old Radio Listening Fun!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with another episode of Radio Daze! This week we’re featuring a couple of Jack Benny episodes from his early stint in 1937. Back then Jack was sponsored by Jello and featured Kenny Baker as his tenor rather than Dennis Day. During this era Benny established his long running radio fued with comedian (and real-life good friend) Fred Allen. Their exchanges are always fun. This is the unofficial start of the feud, with Benny attempting to play “The Bee” on his violin. The second episode deals with the theft of Jack’s beloved violin. Enjoy these episodes and stay tuned for more episodes of Radio Daze! So Sayeth The Kendog!
