Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with another audio review. This time I’m talking about “Nope” Jordan Peele’s latest horror film that just happens to be a spin on the alien invasion film. Good direction, great visuals, and a killer cast. “Nope” is a lot of thrilling fun that is now playing at theaters, including IMAX.

Dog’s Movie House: “Candyman” a worthy sequel to a classic horror film!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at a sequel thirty years in the making. The film is “Candyman” a direct sequel to 1992’s film of the same name. I’m not sure whether or not the world was clammoring for another Candyman film, but I’m happy to report that writer/director Nia DaCosta has taken the mythology and social commentary of the first film and enhanced it in just about every way. Solid performances and some inventive effects and camera work make this new film both creepy and thought provoking.

I must confess that never having watched the sketch comedy show “Key & Peele” I didn’t know what to expect when this duo decided to bring their antics to the big screen in the new film “Keanu.”  But having seen the previews and chuckled more than a few times, I found myself intrigued at the possibility of a film about two dudes masquerading as gangsters in the attempt to get back their abducted cat.  Thankfully, the movie delivers far more than it doesn’t, and in so doing signals the arrival of a couple of massive comic talents.  Continue reading
