Dog’s Movie House: “Mortal Kombat” Mostly Effective Update Of The Original!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at “Mortal Kombat” a martial arts film based on the popular video game series that came out way back in 1992. In 1995, Paul W.A. Anderson had a large hit on his hands when he made the first film based on the game. It was a PG-13 adaptation and thus had none of the gory fatalities that marked the game’s most prominent features, but it was faithful to the storylines of the characters and had a few kick-ass fight scenes that still hold up today. This latest update comes from uber-producer James Wan, best known for his horror franchises like the Conjuring and Insidious series. So how does this new version of “Mortal Kombat” fare?
