Dog’s Movie House: “Ava” Wastes Great Cast In Mediocre “John Wick” Wannabe!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at a movie that really should be better than it is. This is Tate Taylor’s “Ava” an assassin-thriller that takes the template of “master assassin screws up and is hunted down by her former employers” and does almost absolutely nothing with new with it. It also wastes a tremendous cast led by Jessica Chastain, John Malkovich, and Colin Farrell and that is a damn shame.

Aaron Sorkin is one of the most talented writers in entertainment. He’s written scripts for such incredible films as “A Few Good Men” and “The Social Network” and was the creative mind behind the television hit “The West Wing.” He’s never actually directed a film until now. With “Molly’s Game” the true story of “Poker Princess” Molly Bloom, he gets to direct a radiant Jessica Chastain from his own script and the result is a highly entertaining, if slightly unfocused film.
