The Kenblog: “Top Ten Movies Of 2017!”
Howdy folks! It’s The Kendog with my list of the top ten movies of this year!
You have to admit, this last year has been crazy when it comes to the movies. Venerable franchises like Transformers and Pirates of the Caribbean floundered and an Amazonian warrior ruled most of the late spring box office. Marvel soared and The Justice League just kind of. . . laid there. The Minions and Star Wars continued to kick ass and the live action Beauty And The Beast made the old seem new again. And let’s not forget the frightening adventures of a certain clown named Pennywise. Yes it was a fascinating year for movies and without further ado, here is my top ten films of 2017! Enjoy!
Dog’s Movie House: “IT” A Streamlined Masterpiece Of Horror!”
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog!
As a Stephen King fan, I can tell you that this summer’s “Dark Tower” was an absolute mess and made me wonder about the upcoming adaptation of King’s mega-novel “IT.” “IT” just happens to be my favorite novel of all time with Derry, Pennywise, and the Losers being my favorite fictitious places and people to visit. If you could dog-ear a Kindle, my digital copy of “IT” would certainly qualify. Fortunately, Andy Muschietti’s (“Mama”) big screen adaptation is not only pitch perfect for the legendary novel; it may be the best horror movie in the last twenty years! Continue reading
The Trailer Dog Park: More “Pennywise” In Latest “IT” Trailer, Bruce Willis In “Deathwish” Remake!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog!
I have to tell you, the new “IT” film is looking really good, based on the trailers and the second one I’m showing actually features Pennywise speaking. Talk about a spooky voice! It’s looking like the Stephen King adaptation to see this year as “The Dark Tower” seems to be a bit of a disappointment. I’ll be weighing in on that movie this weekend, but in the meantime, check out the second trailer for “IT” below. Also breaking today was the trailer for Eli Roth’s redo of the classic Charles Bronson film “Deathwish.” Now I’ll be really interested in your opinions on this particular trailer. The original film was a tense drama about a man turning to vigilantism in order to not only find justice for his family but also to deal with his grief. Roth’s take on the material seems more like a generic action film, complete with AC/DC soundtrack. It’s nice to see Bruce Willis out of the direct-to-video gulag and I have high hopes for the film, but this first trailer is doing me no favors. Feel free to comment below with your opinion. So Sayeth The Kendog! Continue reading
The Trailer Dog Park: “The Last Jedi” Is Here!
Howdy folks! It’s The Kendog with another edition of the Trailer Dog Park!
Finally we get our first look at “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” released this morning during Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida. I’ve gotta say I’m pretty excited over what I saw. This is how you do a teaser trailer: keep it simple with intriguing visuals and an even more intriguing hook regarding the fate of Luke and Rey. I love the dark undertones and Luke’s final line at the end. I have no idea what it means but I can’t wait to find out! Enjoy the trailer below and feel free to comment. I’ve also included the latest trailer from “Thor: Ragnarok” and “It.” So Sayeth The Kendog! Continue reading
