Radio Daze: Let’s Hit Up Some Dragnet For Your Old Radio Listening Pleasure!
Howdy Folks! Welcome to another edition of Radio Daze! This episode features a couple of classic episodes from none other than Dragnet. The hard hitting police drama first made it’s way to radio in 1949 and became a staple on both radio and television during the 50’s and 60’s. Created by and starring Jack Webb, Dragnet was known for it’s (mostly) authentic portrayal of police work from crime to punishment. It’s a classic show with those wonderful old school vibes. These two episodes are from the summer of 1951! Enjoy! So Sayeth The Kendog!
Radio Daze: Some “Pat Novak For Hire” For Your Old Radio Listening Pleasure!
Howdy Folks! Welcome to another episode of Radio Daze! This week we’re featuring the legendary Jack Webb, but not in the role for which he’s most famous. Before Joe Friday and Dragnet, Webb worked as San Francisco investigator Pat Novak in Pat Novak For Hire, an excellently quirky and well written detective show that wore its pulp roots on it’s sleeve. Webb got to show a lot more personality in this short lived show, which featured a young Raymond Burr as antagonist Inspector Hellman. Only running a couple of seasons at most, it’s still worth a listen and will bring a smile to your face! Enjoy! So Sayeth The Kendog!
Radio Daze: A Little “Dragnet” For Your Old Radio Listening Pleasure!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with another edition of Radio Daze. This time I’m featuring a couple of classic episodes of the popular police procedural “Dragnet.” Created by series star Jack Webb, the popular show would also have a long life on television. With it’s recognizable theme music and it’s pool of “true stories” (with the names changed to protect the innocent”) “Dragnet” is an iconic cop show that is still entertaining all of these decades later! Enjoy! So Sayeth The Kendog!
The Dogcast: A Little Dragnet To Brighten Your Day!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with another couple of old radio shows for your listening pleasure. The are two episodes of “Dragnet” starring Jack Webb from the mid-1950s. Although the acting is a little dated these programs are fairly mature and deal with fairly weighty themes. Good fun for all! Feel free to leave a comment either here or on Facebook! So Sayeth The Kendog!
