Dog’s Movie House: “The Little Mermaid” Live Action Remake Is Halle Bailey’s Coming Out Party!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at the latest Walt Disney live action “remake!” This one is a new version of the 1989 classic “The Little Mermaid.” The 1989 film is an important landmark for Disney Animatin as it marked the beginning of their rennaisance after suffering sub-par results for the better part of two decades. “The Little Mermaid” is one of those redos that manages to honor the original while adding enough original stuff to it to make the film a thoroughly enthralling experience!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here and I’ve got to admit that Hulu has done a pretty good job with some of their original programming. Movies like “Hellraiser” and “Prey” do a wonderful job of updating their respective franchises. Not everyone can be perfect, however, and Hulu is no exception. Today marks the release of the reboot of “White Men Can’t Jump” and it’s a hard film to watch. Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at Disney’s latest live-action version of one of their beloved animated classics. This time it’s Peter Pan getting the treatment in a film streaming exclusively on Disney Plus. It’s called Peter Pan and Wendy and tells a slighly modified version of the classic J.M. Barrie tale. The setup is the same: Pater Pan ( Alexander Molony) invades the home of the Darlings in London to retrieve his lost shadow and in doing so recruits the Darling children, Wendy (Ever Anderson), John (Joshua Pickering), and Michael (Jacob Jupe) to an adventure in Neverland. Upon arriving, the group are set upon by the villainous Captain Hook (Jude Law) and his pirates. It’s up to Peter and Wendy to fend off the evil captain and eventually get the Darling children home.

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at this week’s new releases. Then we have “Evil Dead Rise” the fifth in the iconic series started way back in 1981 by Sam Raimi. Written and directed by Lee Cronin, “Evil Dead Rise” moves the horror festivities from the cabin in the woods to a condemned apartment building in Los Angeles. The result is an original entry into the series that still manages to pay homage to the original trilogy!
