The Kenblog: The Agony And Ecstasy Of An Adult Trip To Disneyland!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with something a little different than my usual fare. As I write this, my beloved wife and I are currenty recovering from a three-day park hopper pass to Disneyland. Now most of you know, either from reading this blog or listening to me on the Pat Walsh Show, that I love Disneyland. It’s always been my favorite theme park and I have memories reaching all the way back to 1979, the first year my grandparents and parents took me and my brother to “The Happiest Place On Earth!” To say that the park sunk its hooks into me but good is something of an understatement. The Missus and I have no children but we continue to go every couple of years to get our Disney Park groove on. This time, however, I noticed a bit of melencholy to the proceedings. I think it has to do with the fact that I am now 53 years old and the experience has changed a bit in the last several years!

It’s The Kendog with a bit of fun throwback stuff. As a big Disneyland fan it’s always fun to go back to the old days and see what it was like before I started my several visits to “The Happiest Place On Earth.” And with bad news assaulting us on a daily basis, I thought a little bit of the feel-good was in order. Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog!
I have a deep and abiding love for all thing Disney. I am especially fond of Disneyland and all of the classic attractions I remember enjoying as a kid, when my grandparents and my parents first let me experience “The Happiest Place On Earth.” That said, Disneyland was going strong by the time I visited for the first time. My mother and her folks actually went the year it opened and I still remember Mom’s recollections of her first theme park experience. Now, thanks to my brother’s intrepid searching of YouTube, I have for you celebrity coverage of the opening day of Disneyland in 1955 in glorious, non-HD black and white!
