Dog’s Movie House: “The Tomorrow War” Entertaining Chris Pratt Vehicle With Some Scary Monsters!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at the latest from Chris Pratt and Amazon Prime. This one’s called “The Tomorrow War” and has a big enough budget that one misses the opportunity to see it on the big screen. Part time travel film, part monster-horror pic, “The Tomorrow War” gets a lot of mileage out of everyman Pratt, a decent script from Zach Dean, and some truly frightening alien monsters. As long as you don’t think about the time travel elements too much, “The Tomorrow War” is a fun movie that has enough creature action to keep fans satisfied, at least until the next Jurassic Park film hits.

Sorry for the lateness of the output, but I have just recently returned from a glorious two week vacation in Maui with my lovely bride of 20 years!  Although I saw movies I didn’t think about a keyboard for a single minute of those two weeks.  With that in mind, some of the biggest movies of the year happened to come out during that time, so I’m gonna give you the quick and dirty on which films to see, with a continuing promise to be a little more on the ball when updating content!

Chris Pratt & Dave Bautista In “Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol 2.”

I’ve been reading the reviews of some of my colleagues regarding Marvel Studios latest release, “Guardians Of The Galaxy, Vol 2” and I’m surprised at how many of them seem to say “It’s great . . .but” like some sort of qualification is needed to enjoy a movie.  The biggest complaint I’ve heard is that it’s not the “breath of fresh air” the original was.  Here’s the memo:  “OF COURSE IT ISN’T!”  The is the second film featuring the same characters, similar situations, and all of the things we liked about the first film.  There is obviously going to be a sense of familiarity with the second film.  That doesn’t mean “Vol. 2” can’t be as good its predecessor.  In point of fact both films are equally great, but for very different reasons.  Continue reading
