Radio Daze: “Some Classic Abbott & Costello” For Your Old Radio Listening Pleasure!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with another episode of Radio Daze! This edition features one of my favorite comedy teams: Abbott & Costello. Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were one of most popular comedy duos during the 1940s and 50s with hit shows in radio, film, and later, television. Molding techniques from roughly 200 vaudeville routines, their rapid fire delivery was one of a kind. Of the two episodes I’m featuring this week, one of them is the classic program featuring “Who’s On First” a classic baseball routine that’s still funny today. The other one features a young Lucille Ball and even Bugs Bunny. Enjoy these classic episodes and keep safe during this chilly winter! So Sayeth The Kendog!

That said, this is a busy film that has a few fitful moments of humor and heart but is way too stuffed with Warner Bros. catelogue of IPs to work as an entirely coherent film.

The Kenblog: “Is There A Rationale For Taking Away The Guns From Elmer Fudd And Yosemite Sam?

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here and I think I’m really risking showing my age. I am a huge fan of the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes Cartoons. When I was a kid I remember watching the ninety-minute “Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Show!” and getting a full dose of Bugs, Daffy, Elmer, and all the others. I have and watch all six volumes of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection quite often and Mel Blanc and Chuck Jones are my personal heroes.
