Dog’s Movie House: “The Wild Robot” An Instant Animated Classic!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at Dreamwork’s latest animated epic. It’s titled “The Wild Robot” and it gives “Inside Out 2” a real run for its money as the best animated film of the year! With sterling vocal performances, stunning animation, and a story that will make you laugh and cry in equal measure, “The Wild Robot” is one of the few films that can be legititmately labeled an “instant classic!”

Dog’s Movie House: “DC League Of Super-Pets” Is Great Fun For The Entire Family!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with an audiocast of the latest animated film hitting theaters this week. It’s called “DC League Of Super-Pets” and it is a delightful, funny, heartfelt romp featuring Krypto (Dwayne Johnson), Superman’s dog as he and a bunch of superpowered shelter pets try to save the Justice League from a maniacal genius guinea pig named Lulu. Dog’s Movie House: “Minions: The Rise Of Gru” Funny Enough But Missing Something!”

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at the latest in the extremely popular “Dispicable Me” Franchise. The films about the not so villainous Gru (Steve Carell) and his pill shaped yellow Minions have garnered a worldwide following and are massively successful. Illumination Studios has found a formula that, at it’s best, reminds one of the classic Looney Tunes cartoons of yesteryear. This new film has some truly inspired pieces but seems to be lacking something from the other films. It’s just not quite as funny as the films that proceeded it.

Dog’s Movie House: “Space Jam: A New Legacy” Overstuffed Yet Fitfully Entertaining Animated Film!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at “Space Jam: A New Legacy” in which Lebron James plays a basketball game with the Looney Tunes, including Bugs Bunny, against a team of digitized NBA and WNBA stars working for a rogue AI named Al G. Rhythm (Don Cheadle). Two things to get out of the way: this film is better than the original “Space Jam” in 1996 (although that’s a pretty low bar to clear) and this review is going to be colored a bit by my perceptions of the Looney Tunes which is probably a product of my age. That said, this is a busy film that has a few fitful moments of humor and heart but is way too stuffed with Warner Bros. catelogue of IPs to work as an entirely coherent film.

Dog’s Movie House: “Luca” Another Pixar Gem!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at Pixar’s latest film. It’s another winner; a charming animated fable called “Luca” and it has the hallmarks of another Pixar classic, combining elements of mythology with a charming Italian atmosphere, along with relatable characters, stunning animation and a story that will please both children and adults. Along with this year’s Oscar-winning “Soul” Pixar again shows that they are one of the most creative and talented studios in the animation business.
