Dog’s Movie House: “Cars 3” Lovable End To Cars Trilogy!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog!
Pixar’s Cars franchise has always been considered the acclaimed studio’s red-headed stepchild. While the animation has always been top-notch, many felt the storytelling was more simplistic than classic Pixar fare like “Toy Story,” “Up,” and “Inside Out.” I find myself in that camp as well, but unlike some of my colleagues I very much enjoy the Cars films for what they are: wonderful cartoons designed primarily for kids. In the case of “Cars 3,” Pixar has decided to forget the Mater-centric “Cars 2” doesn’t exist and bring a nice, sentimental conclusion to the story of legendary racer Lightening McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson). Dog’s Movie House: “Moana” An Instant Disney Classic!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog!
Disney is on a hell of a roll lately. With “Star Wars,” “Zootopia,” “The Jungle Book,” “Finding Dory” and “Civil War” making incredible amounts of cash (and being darn good movies to boot), the House of Mouse could already close the books on a record-setting year. But they aren’t done yet. In a couple of weeks we get our first stand alone Star Wars movie, “Rogue One.” Before that tent pole, however, Disney Animation has another gem on its hands in the form of “Moana” one of the most colorful and touching films of the year! Dog’s Movie House: Catching Up In The New Year!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog!

Fortunately it didn’t stop me from seeing some movies and now that things are all better, it’s time to get back to it. I’m not going to catch up on everything over the last couple of weeks because, let’s face it, there’s a lot of crap out there. So my advice to you is simply to avoid seeing dreck like “The 5th Wave” or “Dirty Grandpa.” What I will do with this article is simply catch up on a few films that are probably worth your time. Soooooo. . . .on with the show! Continue reading
Dog’s Movie House: “The Good Dinosaur” Another Pixar Winner!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog!
Pixar has a tremendous track record as an animation studio. Of all of the features they’ve made, only one is considered “Rotten” on Rotten Tomatoes (It’s “Cars 2” in case anyone is interested. For my part, I find that movie to be very underrated) and so far it’s continued with “Inside Out” which qualifies as one of the best movies of the year. While “The Good Dinosaur” doesn’t quite reach the heights of this summer’s offering, it is still a fine, emotionally poignant addition to the Pixar canon. Continue reading
