Dog’s Movie House: “Eternals” A Well-Acted Marvel Film That Stays Human While Going Cosmic!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here again with a look at Marvel’s latest spectacular saga of superheroes! (Say that three times fast, heh!). This one’s called “Eternals” and comes from the comic from the mind of the legendary Jack Kirby. It also has quite the cinematic pedigree as it was directed and co-written by last year’s Academy Award winner Chloe Zhao. That makes “The Eternals” a bit different in feel and atmosphere then your average Marvel comic book film. While it has the requisite action and special effects, “Eternals” also excels at developing character and story in a way that feels more intimate than most superhero films. The fact that these powered individuals are so relatable is a testament to Zhao’s storytelling ability.

Dog’s Movie House: “Those Who Wish Me Dead” a thriller that benefits from Angelina Jolie and some incredible scenery!

Howdy folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at Angelina Jolie’s latest film, a thriller by Taylor Sheridan titled “Those Who Wish Me Dead.” Sheridan is one of my favorite writers and directors, having penned such excellent films as “Hell Or High Water,” “Wind River,” and “Sicario.” He’s also the creator and primary showrunner for the excellent television series “Yellowstone.” While this most recent film doesn’t quite live up to the some of his others, solid performances and some truly breathtaking photography make this film highly recommended.

Dog’s Movie House: “The One And Only Ivan” A Heartfelt Family Treat!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with the latest from Disney+! Releasing today is “The One And Only Ivan” based on the bestselling book from Katherine Applegate detailing the exploits of Ivan, a Silverback gorilla who’s the star attraction of a small circus in a shopping mall. He’s pretty happy with his existence but when circumstances change Ivan is forced to consider the idea of freedom from the only life he’s ever known.
