Dog’s Movie House: “Anaconda” Disappointing In It’s Mediocrity!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a confession: I love 1997’s “Anaconda” featuring Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, and Eric Stoltz. It’s a fun jungle adventure movie, almost a throwback that plays it straight while at the same time not taking itself too seriously. The titular snake is more movie monster than actual animal, and while the CGI effects are dodgy at times, the set pieces and kills are both imaginative. When I saw the trailer for the meta-reboot of “Anaconda” starring none other than Jack Black and Paul Rudd, I was of two potential opinions: either it would be a hilarious satirical romp or it would be one of the worst movies of the entire year. Turns out I was wrong on both counts!
