The Kenblog: Great Movie Scenes: The Dog Transformation From “The Thing!”

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here and it’s no secret that John Carpenter is one of my favorite directors. With classics like “Halloween,” “The Fog,” and “Big Trouble In Little China” under his belt, Carpenter is one of the greatest directors in horror cinema history. But it’s his redo of “The Thing” in 1982 that stands out as his finest work. The film, adapted from the story “Who Goes There?” by John Cambell, is a primo exercise in dread and paranoia as the discovery of a shapeshifting alien wreaks havoc of the members of an expedition in the Artic. The film starts with an escaped dog from a devestated Norweigan station that makes its way to the American base with a Norwegian helicopter in pursuit.

Dog’s Movie House: “Alien: Romulus” Is A Return To Form For Franchise!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at the latest film featuring everyone’s favorite xenomorph! “Alien: Romulus” has released and director Fede Alverez has succussfully made “Alien” scary again. With so many iterations and crossovers and whatnot over the past 45 years, to say that the idea of “Alien” has become somewhat diluted can be considered an understatment. Even original director Ridley Scott wasn’t entirely successful in reviving his iconic creation (though choosing to explore broader themes in movies like “Prometheus” and “Alien: Covenant” were big swings at something new). Alverez punches things up a bit by going back to the basics and, for the most part, “Alien: Romulus” is the third best film in the franchise!
