Radio Daze: Some “Pat Novak For Hire” For Your Old Radio Listening Pleasure!
Howdy Folks! Welcome to another episode of Radio Daze! This week we’re featuring the legendary Jack Webb, but not in the role for which he’s most famous. Before Joe Friday and Dragnet, Webb worked as San Francisco investigator Pat Novak in Pat Novak For Hire, an excellently quirky and well written detective show that wore its pulp roots on it’s sleeve. Webb got to show a lot more personality in this short lived show, which featured a young Raymond Burr as antagonist Inspector Hellman. Only running a couple of seasons at most, it’s still worth a listen and will bring a smile to your face! Enjoy! So Sayeth The Kendog!
