The Dogcast: Kendog On The Pat Walsh Show – 7-9-2021

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with my latest appearance on The Pat Walsh Show last Friday. This was an unusual broadcast as the studio equipment had apparently become possessed before I showed up. Sound levels were dropping and microphones were falling off their stands. Apparently the radio gods were angry about something. Of course, things immediately change for the better after I show up (tongue planted firmly in cheek for that line) and we had a really good time. This week on the Pat Walsh Show we talk about the supposed death of the cinema business, plus a little Black Widow action and some other random stuff. All very funny and dare I say it, worth your time? Check it out below and feel free to comment either below or on my Facebook page. And once again thanks to the crew at the Pat Walsh Show for allowing me to be a part of the most fun experience in radio! So Sayeth The Kendog!

Dog’s Movie House: “Black Widow” A Superhero Movie With Soul!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. This one’s called “Black Widow” and it fills out the story of everyone’s favorite former Russian spy turned Avenger Natasha Romanoff (the always excellent Scarlett Johansson). This time we get a look inside what makes her tick, a story only hinted at in previous films. Those of you who are fans of the MCU know that Natasha sacraficed herself to save the world in “Avengers: Endgame” so this could qualify as something of a backstory, but it’s done so damn well that this film really stands on it’s own as one of the MCU’s better solo efforts.

Dog’s Movie House: “No Sudden Move” has Soderbergh working magic with a terrific cast!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at the latest release from HBO Max. Steven Soderbergh returns to the arena of crime capers with the twisting, turning “No Sudden Move.” While it’s a bit grittier and has more on it’s mind from a social standpoint, this film shares a lot of DNA with Soderbergh’s entertaining remake of the Rat Pack classic “Ocean’s 11.” Ad to mix some wonderful performances from a who’s-who of character actors and “No Sudden Move” is the perfect antidote to the explosion filled fantasy and super-hero films that fill the summer release slate!

Dog’s Movie House: “The Tomorrow War” Entertaining Chris Pratt Vehicle With Some Scary Monsters!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at the latest from Chris Pratt and Amazon Prime. This one’s called “The Tomorrow War” and has a big enough budget that one misses the opportunity to see it on the big screen. Part time travel film, part monster-horror pic, “The Tomorrow War” gets a lot of mileage out of everyman Pratt, a decent script from Zach Dean, and some truly frightening alien monsters. As long as you don’t think about the time travel elements too much, “The Tomorrow War” is a fun movie that has enough creature action to keep fans satisfied, at least until the next Jurassic Park film hits.

Dog’s Movie House: “F9: The Fast Saga” and “The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard” Too Overstuffed To Match Previous Entries!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at two franchise films that disprove the saying “you can never have too much of a good thing! “The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard” is a sequel to the sleeper hit starring Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson back in 2017 while Vin Diesel and company return in the oft delayed ninth edition of the blockbuster Fast And The Furious Franchise, this time with a bunch of returning characters from other films along with the series most accomplished director in Justin Lin. Both films are highly anticipated and, unfortunately both fail to deliver on the promise of their previous entries.
