Dog’s Movie House: “Twisters” Very Entertaining, But Lacking Something From The Original!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here! It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly thirty years since “Twister” hit screens, putting Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt through the physical and emotional wringer courtesy of Jan De Bont (“Speed”). At the time “Twisters” then groundbreaking CGI seemed to put you right in the middle of a deadly tornado with an intensity never seen before. That novelty gave the original film a “wow” factor that made the movie a must-see. Twenty-eight years later the CGI is miles ahead of what it was in 1996 but so is the overwhelming sense of wonder. This is one of the few things keeping “Twisters” from being a classic showcase! That said, “Twisters” is an incredibly well-made film with some excellent performances, a strong story, and the benefit of having some incredible visuals that put you right in the middle of the action!
