Dog’s Movie House: “The Running Man” Entertaining Version Of Stephen King’s Novel!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here and the 1987 version of “Running Man” has a special place in my heart. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s heroic turn as Ben Richards and Richard Dawson’s pitch perfect perfromance as host Damon Killian are classics of 80s cinema. The neon aesthetic and colorful hunters made up for the fact that director Paul Michael Glaser deviates heavily from the source material. Now Edgar Wright (“Baby Driver”) has brought a more faithful version of King’s 1978 novel (published under the pen name Richard Bachman) to the screens. The result is a faced paced, entertaining dystopian story that, unfortunately, feels a lot more relevant today than a few years ago!
