Dog’s Movie House: “Space Jam: A New Legacy” Overstuffed Yet Fitfully Entertaining Animated Film!

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at “Space Jam: A New Legacy” in which Lebron James plays a basketball game with the Looney Tunes, including Bugs Bunny, against a team of digitized NBA and WNBA stars working for a rogue AI named Al G. Rhythm (Don Cheadle). Two things to get out of the way: this film is better than the original “Space Jam” in 1996 (although that’s a pretty low bar to clear) and this review is going to be colored a bit by my perceptions of the Looney Tunes which is probably a product of my age. That said, this is a busy film that has a few fitful moments of humor and heart but is way too stuffed with Warner Bros. catelogue of IPs to work as an entirely coherent film.
