Dog’s Movie House: “Hellraiser” Reboot Is A Chilling Reminder Of How Good A Clive Barker Story Can Be!”

Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a look at Hulu’s just-released “Hellraiser” film. It serves as a soft reboot of a franchise that has languished in direct to video hell for a couple of decades. And I’m pleased to announce that it’s very, very good. This version tells the tale of Riley (Odessa A’zion), a recovering addict who, in a moment of monetary despair, robs an old shipping container with her shady boyfriend Trevor (Drew Starkey). The only thing they find in a rusty safe and contained within, everyone’s favorite puzzle box from Hell. Known to fans as “The Lament Configuration” this diabolical puzzle box opens the gateway to a dimension of extreme pleasure and pain, often combined. This realm is ruled by the nightmarish Cenobites, the demon priests who adminster their so-called “gifts.” After accidentally opening the box with her brother’s blood, Riley has to find out the secret of the Configuration before she and her friends are dragged into Hell for an enternity of torment.
