Dog’s Movie House: “Final Destination: Bloodlines” A Fun, Bloody Return To Popular Series!
Howdy Folks! It’s The Kendog here with a confession: I’ve never reaaly been much into the “Final Destination” films. The first one was fine for what it was, an engaging story about a group of teens who cheat death and then spend the rest of the movie trying to keep said Death from balancing the scales, often failing miserably in the process. The film seriesn which began 25 years ago, became more about the inventiveness of the kills, with each movie delievering death scenarios more befitting a Wile E. Coyote cartoon then a scary film. “Final Destination: Bloodlines” leans into that silliness to an almost rideculous degree and the film is better for it, with some truly Looney Tunes inspired kills that will have you either gasping or chuckling depending on your preference. The only issue is that the absurdity of the setup undercuts any sympathy we might have for the characters, all of which are played by a talented bunch of actors.
