Movie News: Spielberg Rounds Out His Pentagon Cast!

Howdy Folks!  It’s The Kendog!

I am an avid fan of Steven Spielberg and I know he’s more interested in pursuing adult material, but the kid in me just wishes he would go back to the masterfully crafted adventures that I enjoyed so much as a kid.  Of course, he tried that last year with “The BFG,” and that tanked so I can understand if he’s a little gun shy right now.  That said, he’s got a new film in the pipeline called “The Papers” about the Washington Post’s decision to publish the classified Pentagon Papers in 1971.

On paper, it looks like we’ve got a potential Oscar contender, with Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep as the leads.  It was announced today that the cast is rounding out with the additions of Sarah Paulson, Bob Odenkirk, Matthew Rhys, Bradley Whitford, Alison Brie, David Cross, and Bruce Greenwood, among others.  That’s a supporting cast of terrific character actors that could make this one memorable movie.  Time will tell if this becomes another “All The President’s Men,” but it certainly seems to be off to a good start.   “The Papers” gets as limited release the December but goes wide in January of next year!  Read the whole story here! This looks like a potential winner!   So Sayeth The Kendog!
